On September 2, Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) announced that it will supply structural steel for use in bridge construction within the scope of the Chongqing Xinbaishatuo double-deck railway bridge project. The project in question will cover a distance of 5.3 km and will include six railway tracks.
In addition, on August 29 WISCO's Liberia-based iron ore project produced its first iron ore following equipment testing in August. The project will ship iron ore to WISCO's steel production facilities in China within the current year.
